Sutra 21: Quicker is intensity of eagerness

With a greater intensity of practice, samadhi can be achieved sooner. This is largely common sense, the more you meditate the quicker you are likely to progress along the path.

The only difference between monks and householders is the rate of progression. Monks often have a consistently high input over many years. Householders will likely have a lower input and therefore it will take longer to reach Samadhi. This should NOT be a reason to abandon the sadhana (practice). No comparisons should be made with others.

It is very common for householders to accelerate their sadhana over a temporary period. Perhaps 10-90 days, living much like a monk and then going back into normal life again to resume their responsibilities along with their daily sadhana.
